Your first question is likely, why is the first lot in the Sandglass Ranch Sale a J.D. Hudgins branded female?? The answer is pretty simple! In 2020 we purchased the dam to JDH Lady Manso 561/1 “Crystal” from J.D. Hudgins, Inc. – Forgason Cattle Company as a bred cow. Soon after purchasing her she had 561/1 and Lana Jo liked her so much that she asked if she could keep her, brand her, and show her. Of course, we agreed and the rest is history. JDH Lady Manso was shown by McKenzie Thames for two years and then returned to us. We planned to keep "Crystal" until a full sister was born earlier this spring and is currently being prepared to be shown thus we are selling 561/1 in an effort to share our BEST!!! There is so much to appreciate about this female as she is built right being huge bodied, heavy structured, beefy, long, level, and combines this in a feminine package. The sire to “Crystal” is a J.D. Hudgins, Inc. herdsire that is by the popular bull JDH Jene Manso who is known best as the sire to JDH Massai Manso, the 2022 International Champion JDH Rafiki Manso, and many other global breed influencers. After seeing 561/1 we leased JDH Ambush Manso 455/7 for a season and LOVE his calves! The dam to 561/1 is by +JDH Mr. Manso 638 “Sir Richard” who was a consistent division winner on the J.D. Hudgins Show String and she is out of a regular calving donor for the Forgason Cattle Company Division who has produced 2 daughters that were retained in the herd and two offspring that were exported to Thailand and Mexico. To further add value to JDH Lady Manso 561/1 she is AI bred 6 months to Mr. V8 137/8 who was shown successfully by V8 Ranch before being exported to Mexico. All we can say is Christmas has come two weeks early!!!
